1. Who is responsible for this policy
“EASE™,” “FindWithEase,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the EASE™ mobile application, the FindWithEase website, and related services. EASE™ is owned and operated by Rathe LLC, a Washington limited liability company, which is responsible for the personal information processed under this policy.
For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, or concerns about our handling of personal information, contact support@findwithease.com. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify that a request relates to you.
This policy applies to information processed through the mobile application, the public website, and associated API services. It does not govern third-party services that maintain their own privacy notices.
2. Information we process
Depending on the features you use, EASE™ may process the following categories of information:
- Account and authentication information: your account email address, account identifier, and authentication/session information. Supabase Auth provides authentication. The app stores session tokens in the device’s secure storage; EASE’s privileged authentication key is held only by the server.
- Comfort profile and preferences: the social goal you select and your chosen preferences for atmosphere traits such as noise, crowd level, sensory load, interaction pressure, social energy, lighting, formality, and predictability.
- Saved places and service activity: the Ease venue references you save, and interactions necessary to provide features you request.
- Community contributions: structured atmosphere observations, venue reviews, visit-verification results, and review interactions (such as helpful signals). Community reviews may be displayed to people viewing the relevant venue. Preferences and saved places are account-private.
- Search information: the words you enter to search for a venue or type of place, plus an approximate location center only when you consent to nearby search.
- Optional visit-verification information: when you choose Check In, a one-time location fix is sent to the Ease API so it can compare your distance and accuracy with the venue. The raw latitude and longitude are not written to the Ease database; limited derived evidence is retained as described below.
- Device-local appearance: the light or dark theme choice is stored on your device and is not linked to your account or sent to the Ease API.
- Technical and security data: the API temporarily uses a keyed, in-memory representation of an incoming network address to rate-limit provider requests. The digest and counters expire within one hour or when the API process restarts. Hosting providers may separately process connection and operational log data.
3. How search and location work
Nearby search
Nearby search is optional. After you agree to use location for a search, the app obtains a foreground location fix, rounds the center to two decimal degrees (approximately one kilometer of precision), and sends it in the request body through the Ease API to Google Places as a search-area bias. The coordinates are not placed in the request URL, saved to your preferences, or written to the Ease database. A text or city search can be used without location.
One-time Check In
Check In is a separate action. If you choose it and accept the in-app explanation, the app obtains one fresh location fix and sends it to the Ease API for a distance-and-accuracy comparison against the selected venue. EASE™ does not use Check In coordinates for venue search or atmosphere scoring.
For a successful Check In, the service can retain a record linked to your account and venue that includes a request identifier, time, rounded location accuracy, a coarse distance band, and the verification outcome and reason. This detailed evidence supports a Verified Visit review for up to 30 days and is then removed through scheduled cleanup. If you delete your account sooner, account-linked check-in evidence is removed with it. The simple historical Verified Visit label may remain on a review that is not otherwise deleted.
For a focused explanation of each location feature, see Location Use.
4. Purposes and legal grounds for processing
We process information only as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and protect EASE™, including to:
- authenticate your account and keep your session secure;
- search for and display places, and connect a Google Place ID to Ease-owned atmosphere data;
- save your preferences and places, calculate the Ease Match for your selected social goal, and explain the result;
- accept structured observations and reviews, show community contributions, and reduce abuse or manipulation;
- verify a visit when you expressly choose Check In;
- diagnose availability, enforce security limits, respond to support requests, and comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, processing is based on providing the service you request, your choices or consent (including optional location), our legitimate interests in securing and improving the service, and compliance with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use comfort preferences or location for targeted advertising.
6. Retention and account deletion
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested features, maintain account records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the service. Retention periods depend on the type and purpose of the information.
- Account data: account-linked preferences, saved places, reviews, review interactions, and visit-verification records are deleted when your account deletion request is successfully completed, subject to lawful exceptions and provider-controlled backup or operational retention.
- Visit evidence: detailed verification evidence for an active account is retained for up to 30 days and removed by scheduled cleanup. Account deletion removes linked evidence sooner. A review’s historical Verified Visit label may remain where the review remains.
- Atmosphere contributions: when you delete your account, the contributor identifier is cleared from retained structured observations. The measurement values and venue/time information may remain to maintain community profiles. This removes the direct account link; because the observation can still describe a specific venue and time, EASE™ does not promise that every retained record is anonymous.
- Search and location: Ease does not persist the raw search or Check In coordinates in its application database. Google and hosting providers may maintain their own records under their policies and service settings.
To delete your account, use the in-app option under Profile → account card → Delete account, or use the web-based request process at findwithease.com/delete-account/. In-app deletion requires the service’s database and server configuration to be available; if the app reports a failure, contact support rather than assuming the request completed.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You may deny or revoke location permission in your device settings, use text or city search instead, change or reset your comfort preferences, remove saved places, and request deletion of your account. Location permission is not required for the service’s basic text search.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may submit a request to support@findwithease.com. We may verify your identity and will respond under the deadlines and procedures required by applicable law. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent privacy regulator.
Deleting the EASE™ app from your device does not by itself delete your account. Use the in-app deletion action or the web request page.
8. Security and children’s privacy
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including HTTPS for app/API traffic, secure storage for mobile session tokens, access controls, and keeping privileged service credentials on the server. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
EASE™ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
9. Changes and contact
We may revise this policy to reflect changes to the service, law, or our data practices. We will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice or obtain consent. Material changes will not be applied retroactively where prohibited by law.
